J.C.’s was opened in 1992 as a toning center. Based on customer demand, J.C.’s brought in a tanning bed and lotions. Then our customers asked for more so we added formal wear and tuxedoes.

Today J.C.’s has over 150 formal styles in stock along with our bridesmaids dresses, wedding gowns, and tuxedo options. J.C.’s also carries accessories and gifts and can even make you sunkissed with our tanning beds and airbrush tanning system.

In 2006 The Formal Place opened in the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge. We carry close to 1000 gowns during our peak season of December through May.

This summer as we ordered our 2008 gowns we focussed on consistency and quality in the manufactors we chose to carry. That is why we narrowed down the number of lines we carry in stock. We want you to purchase not only the best style of gown for your body but also the best quality for your money.
